GENERAL OBJECTIVES
The course aims to properly train professionals in the field of Dental Assisting, enabling their entry into the job market both public and private, providing participants with the technical and scientific knowledge necessary for the proper performance of the role, as well as further development for those who already practise the profession.
Upon completion of the course, graduates should acquire the knowledge, attitudes and technical skills appropriate and necessary for practising as a Dental Assistant.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
Ensure technical-administrative tasks and patient support within the functioning and organisation of a dental clinic;a
By observing Biosafety standards, carry out disinfection and sterilisation techniques for all instruments used, contributing to the prevention of cross-infection;
Ensure the correct recording of information, requests and instructions provided by the dentist.
Prepare supportive clinical activities, assisting in the provision of oral healthcare.

Knowledge of the main pathologies in dental medicine
Knowledge of the instruments and materials used in the clinic, to support the dentist as required
Monitoring the patient's condition during procedures
Infection control and effective biosafety in the clinic, ensuring correct sterilisation and disinfection of instruments
Basic emergency techniques for dental assistants
Knowledge of the main dental specialties and the role of the dental assistant in each of them
